All the kids from the 4 families were packed into 4 cars and taken to Buley Rockholes in the park. A couple of them has been here previously and assured us it was a great spot and it is. A series of natural pools with fantastic cascading water between them, The water is crystal clear - able to easily see the bottom in 7-8m of water. The kids just had a ball jumping from the rocks into a deep pool below. In fact we ended up spending most of the day here.
Cousins Jude and Leonie mucked around in the shallows for a while before being encouraged to take the plunge off the rocks. All nervous tension before, then the act then relief.
I had taken my snorkeling gear and had a look around the main hole then took the gear back to the car. After another hour I decided to get wet again and after getting out realised the car keys had been in my pocket were now gone. Panic set in as we started to make plans about getting back to the van and breaking in to retrieve the spare set. Then we realised they had to be at the bottom of the main pool however the snorkeling gear was now locked in the car. Jude checked among the people there and found a man with a child's mask and fin set and asked to borrow the mask. After 3 tries using the too small mask I managed to pick them up off the bottom and we're able to drive again - phew!
On the way back we stopped to have a look at Florence Falls. This one also has a large swimming area at the base however 1.5km walk to get there and we were already waterlogged for today.
Next drove in to have a look at Lost City - a 10km easy 4wd track takes us into the middle of these weird rock formations which someone decided looked like ruins.
Then before getting back to the van, we stopped at Tolmer Falls. After a short walk where there are great views off the national park, we come to a viewing platform overlooking the falls which finish in the gorge 60m below us - no swimming in this one as there is no access to the bottom of the gorge.
Back to camp and another night with all the families - the kids had a ball playing spotlight running around the camp.
