Sean stayed home with Rosie today - he spent several hours with a new mate he met at the swimming pool.
Jude and I went for a drive 50km up the road to Madorah Point. This is a fairly isolated spot on the peninsula opposite to Darwin city. There is a ferry which runs between Darwin and here. People come over to go to the hotel or for the fishing - there's not much else here.
As soon as the ferry lands most people head straight to the hotel which seems to pride itself on not having hot chips on the menu?
From the hotel there's a nice view of the Darwin cityscape from your bar stool.
Next we went to Wagait Beach just down the road. A tiny community where fishing is the main activity. We had a walk on the lovely beach and I even threw in a lure but to no effect.
After we got back to the van, Jude and I then went to the nearby Litchfield Pub to have a look at the State of Origin (a fitting finish to a great career!) while Sean stayed with his mate.
