Today we went to the Katherine Show - the main reason for extending our stay in Katherine this time around. Sean has never been to a show before so this was a big deal for him. We arrived at 1pm and after a look around and a great deal of deliberation he decided to have a go at the giant slide followed by a stint on the dodgems where he got to run into dad a lot.
After another couple of hours wandering around checking the pavilions mum had to have a lie down before we went to the rodeo arena to see the dog trials. Then back to the main arena to see a relay race involving polo cross players and 2 V8 ute drivers - quite interesting.
After this its back to the rides and Sean picked out those he wanted to try
Even the ones he wasn't allowed to ride consumed our time just watching the look on other peoples faces.
After spending a great amount of time checking out show bags he finally decided on one then back to the rodeo to watch some bull riding.
After the sun set then off for a couple more ride s- each one a little scarier than the one before.
Next settled in to check out the fireworks display (experimenting with different exposure times giving some interesting results) with cousin Leonie and her friend Megan then home to bed.
