Another day at turn one for me. Today we had a couple of extras on point so plenty of people to do the tasks. Turned out that our senior marshal Dave is heavily involved in training for CAMS and is also Clerk of the Course for Adeliade Clipsal 500. We were lucky to have him at our point and it was very interesting talking to him about the various roles he has.
Our comms person Vicki was crook and her voice started to give out so I spent most of the day on comms which I enjoyed. At the end of the day Vicki handed the radio over to me cause she was doing a stint in race control on Sinday.
Sorry there are no picture from my point - it is at least 200m away from the closest point where public are allowed and our one camera was with Jude.
Jude and Sean came to the track along with Leonie and Jacob in the afternoon. Leonie's husband John was also in Darwin and has a ticket for Sunday - today he is picking up a new truck for his business.
After today's race completed (Rick Kelly win after leaders took each other out), then it was time for the concert. Started with a local band doing some covers - they were pretty good. Then INXS took to the stage and there were a lot of young and old rocking away. We saw most of their show but left before the final songs to avoid the crush with everybody trying to leave at the same time. It was Sean's first tatse of a rock concert and maybe his last for a while. The noise was a bit overwhelming for him (it really was very loud).
Today was our friend Glenn's birthday - happy birthday Glenn!!
