After packing up at Leonie's and spending some time fitting and adjusting my brand new Hayman Reece towing hitch, we're off on our way to Mataranka 100km south. About 20km out of Katherine there is an awful screaming noise from under the bonnet, then although still running the car sounded like a german tank. A quick inspection revealed the exhaust has broken off at the motor outlet manifold. Turned around and had a very noisy trip back to Katherine. Of course we found ourselves back there at 1.30pm on a Saturday and any chance of getting anything done had disappeared 2hrs earlier.
We realised that we were back until at least Monday so we booked into Springvale Homestead caravan park (we were not going to hassle Leonie and John any more). Set up and Sean and I went for a swim in the large pool which is fed by one of the natural springs on the property. Also has a water slide which Sean thought was pretty cool.
