The last 2 days have been very hectic trying to get our house ready for the people who are renting it - we met them yesterday after working most of the night Friday to get things ready. They seem like nice people with 4 kids - the house suits them well and we wish them a good stay.
Yesterday was officially our first night homeless - we found a temporary home for the van in the front yard of our good friends Pat and Norm. We made it here last night and had some dinner with them then collapsed into a deep sleep in the van. During this mayhem Sean was lucky enough to have a sleepover with his good mate Harrison - by all accounts they had a great night last night.
Today we went to 8.30am church this morning. We had a great time farewelling all our church family - it's great to have these brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a wonderful church and we'll miss the people and the formal gatherings. We look forward to seeking out churches along the way that we can visit and share in praise and worship. We went for a quick trip down to Terrigal Beach - it was a beautiful sunny morning and we remembered that we live in a special place - we also reflected that the next beach we see is likely to be in Broome!!
We returned to Pat and Norms and spent the next few hours sorting out all the stuff we threw in the van last night, and working out what stays and what goes (we realised that there's only so much that will fit). Then back to the house to offload the stuff.
After working out we need to spend another night on the Coast, Harrison's parents have kindly offerred to have Sean again for the night so tomorrow is now D-Day we hope!! So we had dinner with our friends again - they can be a bit weird but perhaps that's why we get on so well.
It is tiring work getting ready for a trip like this - one needs to find a comfy spot to rest one's bones.
Next entry we should be on the road - fingers crossed!
